Liberty hockey made their first road trip of the season last weekend, traveling to New Jersey for a pair of games against ESCHL foe Rutgers.  It would be difficult for the Flames to have a more successful weekend, as Liberty was able to win both games in dominating fashion, 6-0 each.  Transfer Sophomore Goaltender Cole Burack stopped every shot he faced Friday night, and Senior net minder Josh Halpenny followed that performance up with a shutout of his own Saturday afternoon.  The pair combined for 21 and 31 saves each to show Liberty’s depth between the pipes this season.

The Flames improve to 4-0 in conference, and 5-1 overall.  LU was paced by Senior Center Grant Garvin, who brought home 4 goals and 3 assists on the weekend.  Liberty has now won five in a row, and will look to improve on that after the bye week against ESCHL newcomer Syracuse on Homecoming weekend.  The puck drops Friday night at LaHaye Ice Center, 7pm Eastern, and 2pm Eastern on Saturday.  The games will be streamed live on LFSN and the Big South Network.
