The Flames have added a future home-and-home football series with Eastern Michigan, according to EMU’s 2018 football media guide. The series will begin on September 23, 2023 at Williams Stadium, with Liberty making the return trip to Ypsilanti, Michigan on September 7th, 2024. Eastern Michigan was the first ever FBS opponent the Flames defeated, winning 25-24 in 1989.

With the addition of these two games, Athletic Director Ian McCaw and his staff are very close to finalizing the schedules for 2023 and 2024. This is the 6th publicly announced game for 2023, as the Flames are also scheduled to play host to Bowling Green and UMass and road dates scheduled at Coastal Carolina, Buffalo, and Marshall. This is also the 6th publicly announced game for 2024, with Liberty hosting Coastal Carolina and Marshall that season and additional road trips planned for Ball State, North Carolina, and UMass.

All future Liberty football schedules can be found on our future football schedule page, with games announced all the way through 2031. Complete schedules through 2021 have already been announced, and McCaw has stated previously this summer that the 2022 schedule could be formally announced soon.

We are just 40 days until the Flames kickoff the 2018 schedule on September 1st against Old Dominion in the beautifully renovated Williams Stadium.
