Liberty’s 2019 Liberty football schedule, its first as a full FBS member with bowl eligibility, was released by the school Wednesday.

The Flames will open the 2019 season on August 31st at home against Syracuse. This will be the first ever meeting between the two programs and the first time an ACC opponent has visited Williams Stadium. The Orange and Flames will meet in 2019, 2020, and 2021.

The rest of the home schedule includes a meeting with Turner Gill’s former team Buffalo on September 14th, New Mexico visits on September 28th, and New Mexico State visits Williams Stadium in the season finale on November 30th. The remaining home game is against FCS opponents Hampton (Sept 21) and Maine (Oct 19).

Liberty will have 6 road trips in 2019, beginning with Louisiana Lafayette on September 7th. The matchup with the Ragin’ Cajuns is part of a home and home deal with Louisiana making the return trip to Lynchburg on November 20, 2021. The Flames will also play at New Mexico State (10/05), and 4 straight road dates with Rutgers (10/26), UMass (11/2), BYU (11/9), and Virginia (11/23).
