After a slow start for the Flames, they found themselves in another offensive shootout against MVFC member Indiana State. There was speculation that this game would be too close for comfort considering the Sycamores come from a stout conference who have 3 teams in the FCS Top 10. There was no Baylor hangover for the Flames Saturday as they got out to a quick start against Morehead State. After the Eagles (1-1) deferred to the second half, it took Liberty three plays to go 50 yards and possess the lead for the remainder of the game. It was another offensive extravaganza as the Flames amassed 523 total yards, the second straight game in which they had that type of production. Liberty’s performance against 33-point favorite Baylor makes the first installment of our new weekly MVP feature a difficult one. Of course, there a numerous individual performances to discuss, but there are position groups that deserve to be mentioned as well. For the first game of the season, the offensive line looked unified. They aided in an offensive slugfest as the Flames put up 585 total yards against the Bears.
