FLAMEfromBAMA continues to dominate our Bold Predictions Challenge by holding off the field for yet another week. With that said, things have started to compact even more near the top. This week especially, the lower players still in contention seemed to be the ones to have the higher scores, lessening the margin between #1 and #10 quite drastically. Here’s what the overall leaderboard currently looks like:

And your scoreboard from last week:

As the season progresses, I will be trying to find ways to give out even more points every week, so even if things are starting to look hopeless for you, you may have a better chance than you think.

You know what to do.. Good luck!

1. What will Liberty’s attendance be this Saturday?

A) less than 15,000

B) 15,000-17,000

C) 17,000-18,500

D) 18,500-20,000

E) 20,000+

Probably the most unpredictable game to predict the attendance of in recent history, there are a number of factors to keep in mind. It’s homecoming, Liberty has experienced phenomenal attendance at home this year (last home game has the record for highest home attendance in Liberty history), It is the first home Big South game, all the while the Flames are coming off two of their worst losses in recent memory.

CollegeGameday2. Will Liberty get a shoutout on college gameday?

A) Yes

B) No

I have a feeling Liberty might get a little love since they are the last team to knock off JMU. Not to mention we are Rocco’s former school and we have Sam Ponder on the gameday crew.

3. Will a Liberty player win a Big South Player of the Week award this week?

A) Yes

B) No

Offense, Defense, Special Teams, Freshman of the Week are all acceptable.

4.Who will be ranked #1 in the FCS coaches poll after this week?

A) Coastal Carolina

B) Other

Jacksonville State and JMU continue to push Coastal in the polls. I’m not sure how long Coastal will be able to stay on top with the caliber teams they play. This week the Chanticleers take on Monmouth.

Des Rice5. How many total rushing yards will Liberty record this week?

A) Less than 100 yards

B) 100-125 yards

C) 125-150 yards

D) 150+ yards

The Flames are currently averaging 123.7 yards per game.

turner6. Will Chris Turner record another turnover?

A) Yes

B) No

Redshirt freshman corner, Turner, has broken out with three interceptions on the year. Will his forced turnovers continue against Kennesaw State.

Bold Predictions (Pick 3)

1. Coastal, CSU, Liberty all win this week.

Despite the Big South slate Liberty has had up to this point, I think most still consider Liberty, CSU, and Coastal to be the top three teams in the Big South. Will the big three all win this week up against G-Webb, Monmouth, and Kennesaw State?

2. Liberty receives 50+ top 25 votes in the next STATS FCS poll.

The Flames actually received 30 top 25 votes this week. I don’t think just beating Kennesaw State will boost the Flames to 50+ votes. Liberty will have to show that their performances against G-Webb and Monmouth were flukes.

3. Richmond beats JMU.

The 11th ranked 5-1 Richmond Spiders will have to beat #2 James Madison on the road in front of a, sure to be electric, crowd. Richmond has been solid, undefeated against FCS foes, but JMU has looked they might be the top team in the FCS this year.

4. Kennesaw State beats Liberty.

Despite reeling the past couple of weeks, Liberty still has to be the favorite against a dangerous Kennesaw State team. Hopefully the Flames will stop the bleeding this week.

5. Sam Izzy records more sacks than Liberty’s sack leader this Saturday.

Izzy has 4.5 on the year to lead the owls. The standout sophomore will look to wreak havoc against Liberty’s struggling O-line.

6. Total score is either under 40.5 or over 65.5.

parker17. Liberty’s longest play of the game goes to Zac Parker.

Parker has been a big play machine at times for the Flames. We’ll see if he’s able to break something open this week.

Picks must be submitted by 6:00 P.M. Saturday.
