Through six games this season, Big South Player of The Week Aldreakis Allen is smashing his way to historic numbers in his junior season.  He is currently averaging 112.2 yards per game, and 7.2 yards per carry.  Should he maintain his current yards per carry average throughout the season, it would be the best season for a Liberty back in school history, and the best yards per game average since Rashad Jennings ripped opponents for 136.4 yards per game in 2008.  His huge 183 yard, four TD performance against Presbyterian last Saturday has given Aldreakis a ton of momentum for the home stretch of Liberty’s season.

Looking Ahead

7.2 yards per carry is a staggering figure, and even optimistic observers would have to believe Allen’s production is likely to slow a bit down the stretch.  On the other hand, it could easily be argued that Liberty has already faced the most difficult portion of their schedule.  Any number above 5.0 yards per carry would have to be considered an outstanding season, and would likely mean good things for the Flames’ results to close the 2012 campaign.
