-With this win, Liberty’s home record extends to 3-0. The last time the Flames had a 3-0 home record was 2010.

-I wouldn’t credit their 3-0 home record and 0-4 away record to a home court advantage though. Liberty’s home opponents have had a KenPom ranking of 277, 312, and unranked (DIII).

-The game was back and forth for the most part until the 5:16 mark when Liberty went on a 10-0 run to go up 58-45.

-Liberty held Stephen Croone in check, allowing him only 13 points on 3/11 shooting. He was Furman’s leading scorer, but didn’t do near the damage he did last year when he dropped 40 on us.

-Though Liberty won comfortably tonight, watching this team turn the ball over possession after possession is going to drive Flames fans nuts. We had 18 turnovers tonight.

-To give the turnover problem some perspective, we turn the ball over on 27.7 percent of our possessions (348th). Only three D1 teams in the nation have a worse turnover percentage.

-Something has got to change or I’m going to lose my mind. There isn’t a more frustrating way to lose games than by turnovers, and Liberty is on track to lose quite a few match ups in this manner unless the problem is quickly straightened out.

-David Andoh (5/8 shooting) led the Flames with 14 points, his third straight game in double digits. He also had 12 rebounds in his first double double of the year.

-Drew Smith was our second leading scorer and provided the exclamation point with a late alley-oop dunk in the win.

-Theo Johnson had a season high 8 points off the bench on only two shots. He was able to get to the line twice and knock down all four free-throws. Johnson also had a highlight reel block that led to the Drew Smith alley-oop.

-Joe Retic led the defensive effort, recording 5 steals. He also was very creative distributing the ball, finishing the game with 10 assists.

-Evan Maxwell gave us a glimpse of what he could one day be with an impressive power move through contact on one of his two field goals.

-The Flames will be back in action Saturday at 2:00 in the Vines Center against St. Francis (NY).
