With just 3 (or 4 if you’re VMI) games remaining, the race for the #2 seed and last bye in the North Division is on. There are 4 teams that still have a shot at the #2 seed – VMI, Campbell, Radford, and Liberty. Here’s a look at their remaining schedule:

VMI 6-6

2/19: vs High Point
2/21: @ Charleston Southern
2/26: @ Liberty
3/2: vs Longwood

The Keydets are really struggling as they have lost 6 of their last 8, and they have a tough road ahead. VMI’s next 2 games are against the leaders of the North and South Division in High Point and Charleston Southern. Each of those games will be tough to win. Then will come nearly a must win against Liberty in the Vines Center where the Flames have been much tougher to beat than on the road this season.

Prediction: VMI finishes 7-9 as they only beat Longwood.

Campbell 6-7

2/19: @ Radford
2/27: vs Longwood
3/2: @ High Point

Campbell appeared to be in a free-fall having lost 6 consecutive games, but then they righted the ship in beating VMI on Saturday. Still, 2 tough road games for the Camels.

Prediction: Campbell finishes 7-9 as they only beat Longwood.

Radford 6-7

2/19: vs Campbell
2/27: @ High Point
3/2: vs Liberty

The Highs have 2 home games against 2 of their challengers and then pay a visit to North Division leader High Point.

Prediction: Radford finishes 8-8 with home wins over Campbell and Liberty and captures the #2 seed.

Liberty 5-8

2/19: @ Longwood
2/26: vs VMI
3/2: @ Radford

The Flames still have a shot at this, but they will likely have to win out which will be tough with 2 road contests. I think the season finale will be for the 2 seed. While I’m predicting a Liberty loss, I wouldn’t be shocked if they won as the Flames are 3-0 against Radford inside the Dedmon Center since Dale Layer has been head coach.

Prediction: Liberty loses the regular season finale and finishes 7-9 in conference.
