Football injury report

From Liberty coach Turner Gill, here’s the status of the various injured Flames for this weekend’s contest with Kentucky Wesleyan:

  • Dylan Bowman – doubtful
  • Aldreakis Aldreakis – out
  • Dallas Griffiths – out
  • Dominique Davis – questionable
  • Nicky Fualaau – out

Hagen to miss 1st half

Jacob Hagen, who was ejected in the 2nd half of the Richmond game, will miss the 1st half of the Kentucky Wesleyan game in response to his hit on UR’s Ben Edwards. Video of the call was sent in to ACC Coordinator of Football Officiating Doug Rhoads who said there was no indisputable evidence to correct the call that was made by the referees in the game.

2 Big South teams in top 25

With Gardner-Webb posting consecutive victories over top 25 opponents, the Runnin’ Bulldogs have moved into the top 25 for the first time since 2002. They join Coastal Carolina who ranks 11th in the Coaches poll and 12th in the Sports Network top 25. Gardner-Webb is #25 in the Sports Network poll.

Basketball practice begins

The Liberty men’s basketball team begins preparation for it’s conference tournament title defense today. The Flames’ season tips off inside the Vines Center on November 8th against Randolph College.
