Liberty has hired Omar Mance to their basketball coaching staff. Mance comes to Liberty from West Point where he served at Army as an assistant coach since June 2010.

Mance hails from Stome Mountain, Georgia and played one season at LSU before finishing his career at Rice where he graduated in 2003. Since 2007 he has served on the coaching staff at Rice and as head coach at North Shore Country Day High School in Winnetka, Illinois. In his two seasons at North Shore he led the team to its two best finishes in school history.

In 2006 and 2008, he worked with Athletes in Action in Nairobi, Kenya where he toured schools, academies and orphanages while helping coach college and club teams. He also played professionally overseas in Europe, Asia, and Canada.
