Liberty Athletics Year In Review #6: Flames Athletic Facilities Booming

When history looks back on 2012 in Liberty athletics, it will likely focus on the boom in construction that occurred on campus this past year.  The announcement of Liberty’s intentions of joining the FBS ranks has spurred unprecedented growth in athletic facilities at the school.  Included in these improvements are a new baseball stadium that will rival those of many BCS level schools, as well as a new basketball practice facility, plans for a new softball stadium, and many additional improvements to existing facilities.  One such improvement was the resurfacing of the track.  Finally, plans have been firmed up for Williams Stadium Expansion Phase 2, which will begin once the Flames receive a coveted FBS invitation.

Liberty Baseball will have a new home in 2012

The new Worthington Stadium is still expected to be completed in time for the 2012 season.  The new basketball practice facility is nearing completion as well.  As always, you can keep Flames Nation on your favorites bar, and follow us on Twitter for the latest updates on the new facilities.
