Former Liberty running back Rashad Jennings is signing with the New York Giants as he announced on twitter Wednesday afternoon.

Rashad is coming off a career year for the Oakland Raiders where he rushed for 733 yards and 6 touchdowns to go along with his 36 receptions for 292 yards in 15 games played, all career-highs.

Jennings was drafted in the 2009 NFL Draft by Jacksonville in the 7th round (250th overall). Rashad played his first 4 NFL seasons in Jacksonville where he was mired by injuries. He missed all of the 2011 season due to injury, and he was placed on Injured Reserve in December 2012 following a concussion and shoulder injury. While a Jaguar, Jennings appeared in 38 games rushing for 944 yards and 7 touchdowns on 224 carries. He also had 61 receptions for 454 yards.

Rashad was a standout at Liberty from 2006-2008. He amassed a Big South record 3,633 yards and 42 touchdowns. He was named Big South Offensive Player of the Year following both his Junior and Senior seasons at Liberty.
