For the 3rd time this season, Liberty is looking to extend a winning streak to 4 games, after failing to do so each of the previous 2 occasions. The Flames tango with 460 rival Longwood, Friday night in the Vines Center.

Liberty lost to UNCG and Fort Wayne earlier this season when sporting 3 game win streaks, only to have the win streak halted. The Flames trail the all-time series with the Lancers, 14-21, but have won 4 straight. Coach McKay is 5-3 in his career against Longwood.

The Lancers are 4-13 on the season and 1-3 in Big South play. They have just 1 Division I win all season, which came against Gardner-Webb on January 6th. Longwood has put together its two highest scoring games against DI in opponents their last two times out. The Lancers scored 79 points in their win over the Runnin’ Bulldogs and then a season-high against DI opponents 80 points in a loss to UNCA.

The Flames currently rank 6th in country in scoring defense, allowing 60.5 points per game. Liberty is holding its opponents to 38.5% shooting from the field, which ranks 16th in the country.

The Lancers are led by Charles Glover, Isaiah Walton, and B.K. Ashe. Longwood is 3-0 this season when the guard trip all score in double figures, and they combine to provide 49.2% of the team’s total scoring this season. Walton is currently averaging 17.3 points per game and has scored in double figures in 10 of his 12 games this year, including four 20 point performances. Ashe is scoring 12.9 points per game while Glover is adding 8.8 points per game.
