As we are on the eve of National Signing Day, here’s an update where Liberty stands with it’s verbals and prospects.

Signed:
A few transfers have already enrolled and are listed on the Spring Roster:
OL Jonathan Burgess
OL Cody Gochenouer
OL Austin Parker
QB Cory Benedetto
DB Chris Robinson

Verbals:
QB Stephon Masha
Based on our recent interview and article on Stephon, his commitment is as solid as they come. We should be seeing his name come through tomorrow.

RB Joshua Smith
Joshua’s verbal is also very solid. This is based on several factors including our Q&A with him from December. Also, his current twitter name is “Joshua LU Smith”. And then there was this tweet on January 31:

@chimauzowihe52 u already kno bro ill be up there soon!!! #GoFlames
— Joshua LU Smith (@liljosh_33) February 1, 2013

Expect to see Joshua’s NLI come through at 8:30 Central Time, according to Joshua’s twitter.

RB Toddrick Macon
Yeah, we should be good with Macon:

OL Dylan Brucki
We have not been able to confirm Brucki’s status, but both Rivals and ESPN still report him as a Liberty commit. Guess we’ll find out tomorrow, I’d plan on expecting him to sign but that’s because we have nothing to indicate otherwise.

OL Avery Easton
I think it’s safe to say Avery is a solid commit considering his twitter profile image is the official Liberty logo (@Avery_Easton62). Avery should be one of the names that comes through the fax tomorrow.

OL Leonard Hunt
The most recent public information on Hunt comes from a tweet from his high school football coach on January 28, 2013:

Liberty DC Coach Wimberly stopped by today to see 2014 Liberty commit Leonhard Hunt.
— Ryan Keith (@Coach_Keith10) January 28, 2013

I think we can assume the “2014” and the misspelling of his name was just a typo. Here’s another tweet from his coach just 6 days prior on January 22:

Liberty University head football coach Turner Gill stopped by EVA today to see 2013 commit Leonard Hunt.
— Ryan Keith (@Coach_Keith10) January 22, 2013

I’d expect to see Hunt’s NLI received tomorrow.

OL Jesse Karnezis
Jesse is about as solid as a verbal as you will find. Several reasons, most notably our recruiting profile on him from January 23rd. Also, this tweet from Jesse on January 31:

Scholarship papers today in the mail #blessed twitter.com/JesseKarnezis/…
— Jesse Karnezis (@JesseKarnezis) January 31, 2013

Karnezis should sign on the dotted line and be one of the newest members of Flames Nation tomorrow.

OL Lucas Holder
Lucas is another one who is a solid commit, and should sign tomorrow. If you check out his twitter profile (@LdotHolder72), it is completely decked out with Liberty. Plus, he just committed on January 29th.

OT Blanchard Sanwuou
Blanchard is a guy who we have not been able to dig up much info on. Out of all the commits, he’s the one I’m least confident in him signing tomorrow although there is nothing that indicates he’s NOT signing. We’ll just wait it out and see.

OT Kris Wilson
Wilson should be solid considering he just committed on January 30th.

WR Justin Fritts
Justin is a solid commit and we expect to see his NLI come through tomorrow. In case you missed it here is his recruiting profile and why he should try out for coffeehouse next year. You should also enjoy this tweet if you haven’t seen it yet:

I will be in this soon twitter.com/JustinFritts4/…
— Justin Fritts (@JustinFritts4) January 27, 2013

DT JaRon Greene
Greene’s commitment  has not been reported by any other media outlets, which gives some cause for concern. However, I expect to see Greene’s name come across tomorrow as a Liberty signee.

SS Nick Newman
Newman should be a solid commit as he just committed in the past week or two. This kid is talented, and I’m looking forward to seeing him in a Liberty uni next season.

DB Wesley Scott
Wesley is a solid verbal and his name should appear tomorrow as a Liberty signee.

CB Justin Guillory
Guillory, like Greene, has not been reported as a commit by other media outlets, but I still think his commitment is solid.

ATH Gary Sampson
Sampson is also a solid verbal that should sign on the dotted line tomorrow.

Notable Prospects:
WR Geoff Fairbanks
Fairbanks is supposed to make his decision public on Wednesday, and is supposed to make it public on his twitter account (@Fairbanks_85). He is said to be choosing between Liberty, Monmouth, Maine, and New Haven.

WR Bilal Salat
In a January update, Salat listed Liberty and Marshall as his top 2. There have been no updates since then.

LB John Nick Setterlind
*UPDATE* Setterlind has committed to Liberty as of 2/4/13.
Setterlind is a new name to Flames Nation, but it sounds like he is very likely to be signing with the Flames tomorrow. Check out our original story from February 5 at 8:45 am for the details.

ATH Zac Parker
I have been told that Parker is likely to sign with the Flames on Wednesday as a WR, but as far as I know he has not made a public commitment to anyone. He was at Liberty this past weekend visiting. Parker is being recruited to Liberty as a WR.

On signing day, we will have one post which will be continually updated throughout the day when the signed National Letters of Intent come through as reported by LibertyFlames.com. We will also tweet them out @Flames_Nation.
