Coach Gill and the Liberty football team picked up 4 commitments on Sunday. It’s the final weekend and just a few days prior to national signing day this Wednesday, and the Flames’ coaching staff picked up commitments from all 4 uncommitted prospects who visited this weekend.

DB Keith Best, DB Kimani Donaldson, TE Jerome Jackson, and TE Fidel Ogbeifun all committed while on an official visit this weekend. WR Khaleb Coleman, who was already pledged to the Flames, was also on his official visit this weekend.

Liberty just offered Best last week. His visit to Liberty this weekend was the first official visit he has taken. He also has reported offers from Kentucky, Miami (OH), Southern Miss, and Tulane. Best is a 6’1″, 180 pound prospect from Tucker, Georgia. He is a 3 star rated prospect according to 247Sports and Rivals. He is recovering from a torn ACL suffered in early September, causing him to miss much of his senior season.

Donaldson also committed to Liberty while on his visit this weekend. The Flames are his only reported offer. He’s a 6’0″, 160 pound athlete from Jonesboro, Georgia where he attends Mundys Mill High School. This past season, he recorded 23 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and 1 interception.

Liberty picked up a commitment from Jerome Jackson. The 6’5″, 217 pound prospect was on an official visit this weekend. He attended Timber Creek High School in Forth Worth, Texas. As a senior, he recorded 27 receptions for 477 yards and 3 touchdowns. Liberty was his lone reported Division I offer.

Ogbeifun is a 6’3″, 220 pound tight end from Douglasville, Georgia. He also had reported offers from Florida International, Austin Peay, Eastern Illinois, Jacksonville State, and Chattanooga. As a senior, he had 33 receptions for 626 yards and 6 touchdowns.

With these 4 commitments, Liberty’s class of 2017 is now up to 16 verbals. We’ll have much more on signing day and all that surrounds it this week.
