The Flames look to win back to back games for the first time this season as they head to Kennesaw, GA to take on the Owls. Here are some keys to the game:

1 – Take The Home Crowd Out Of It

It’s no secret Liberty has struggled away from Williams Stadium during Turner Gill’s tenure. Since Gill took over in 2012, the Flames are 10-16 on the road and currently have a 5 game road losing streak. It’s also no secret that Kennesaw State has been looking forward to this game all season. They’re going to want to come out and make a big play to get the crowd involved early. If the Flames can turn the tables and get off to a quick start, they’ll take the crowd out of it and that’ll be a big help in trying to solve their road woes.

2 – Liberty Defense vs Kennesaw St Offense

These are the 2 biggest strengths for each team. KSU’s offense has averaged 40 points per game and has been almost unstoppable this year. Meanwhile, Liberty’s defense has forced turnovers and kept them in games all season. The battle between the Owls offense and the Flames defense will determine who wins this game.

3 – Shut Down Justin Sumpter

Sumpter is by far the Owl best receiver and biggest downfield threat Kennesaw has. He has 25 receptions for 468 yards and 6 touchdowns in 5 games this season. No one else on the KSU roster has more than 6 receptions. If the Chris Turner and the Flames defense can shut him down, that will go a long way in securing a win for the Flames.
