The 2018 Liberty football schedule will be released during Saturday’s Commencement ceremony, according to sources.

We’ve been piecing together the 2018 schedule game by game over the past couple of weeks since President Falwell announced the team was making the move to FBS Independent status beginning in 2018. What has been previously reported are home games against North Texas (9/22) and New Mexico State (11/24) and road games against Wake Forest (9/8), New Mexico (9/29), and New Mexico State (TBD).

The 2018 schedule will also include road matchups with Virginia, Auburn, Army, and UMass, ASeaofRed.com has learned. The 3rd required FBS home game will likely be against Sun Belt member Troy.

Several other games that have been finalized for 2019 and beyond are also expected to be announced Saturday. The game against Wake Forest is part of a 2-for-1 deal with the Flames also visiting Winston-Salem in 2022 and the Demon Deacons making the trip to Lynchburg in 2025. Road contests in 2019 include Rutgers and BYU, while Army is scheduled to play at Liberty in 2021.
